The brief: create an event experience for Sonos that will live at the South by Southwest music festival.
My solution: Since Austin, Texas is kind of rooted in the old west, I thought it would be fun to borrow the look and feel of old west-style Hatch Show Print posters, and contrast that with the sleek black and white branding of Sonos. And since Sonos and Austin are both embedded in the world of music, why not use lyrics from various songs that relate to the various locations within the event space.
To contrast that and bring a modern element to the space, I thought it would be cool to use neon signage to label the various spaces.
My role: I concepted the idea, chose the various song lyrics and laid out each of the posters.
I designed the look & feel of the website and event space for Microsoft’s inaugural Ignite conference.
